The 2021 Car Mechanic Simulator had next-gen realistic graphics that made the virtual act of hanging out in the garage look like the coolest thing in the world – the metallic world of a garage has never looked sexier, thanks to the 2021 game. We think that Car Mechanic Simulator 2023 is not going to become a real thing and these 5 reasons are responsible for it.
Here’s Why Car Mechanic Simulator 2023 isn’t coming anytime soon
1. The Niche Market is going to be a big hurdle
It’s quite fair to say that Car Mechanic Simulator is a pretty unorthodox & niche game and it does not appear in your thoughts when you think “Let’s play some video games”. The raging popularity of eccentric games like Only Up, Getting Over It and “A Difficult Game About Climbing” is giving cut-throat competition to the simulator niche of games. Other goofy gaming options like “Fall Guys’ and ‘Among Us’ strike a better commonality among strangers than Car Mechanic Simulator 2023 ever will – it’s easier to bond with people over foolish multiplayer games. How many times have you heard a gamer say “Hey I love engines and building cars in video games” to a potential friend – the answer is never.
It doesn’t happen everyday that a guy comes back from his 9-5 job and dreams of repairing virtual cars. Car Mechanic Simulator 2023 will have to compete with beer, Netflix & sleep – it’s impossible to separate a tired working man from his beverages.
2. There’s a ton of masculine gaming options available
It’s almost certain that a majority of Car Mechanic Simulator players are males. Taking that into account, it’s obvious that most men want to feel superior after getting insulted by their boss in front of the office and want to release the anxiety that they built up over the week or just want to embody huge muscles in a game to compensate for their real-life scrawny or flappy arms – it’s a universal thing that all men want to feel more masculine and closer to their primal element.
Games like God of War, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Tekken and Hitman allow men to feel more masculine – it feels like flexing a virtual muscle to men. Car Mechanic Simulator 2023 won’t be able to beat the flood of testosterone that these games bring. A man is always going to choose adrenaline-pumping action over tightening virtual screws.
3. You could only enjoy the sounds of bolts unscrewing so much
The motor-induced screw removal sounds, the metallic cling while unplugging the car parts, the joy of breaking apart a big machine and the peaceful quietude of hanging out in a garage all by yourself – its amazing for an experience for car enthusiasts who appreciate the metallic building blocks of a car but it’s a little bit strange to become a hobby. You are going to feel manly like a man after opening the car apart, fixing it with your hands and putting everything back together but it’s impossible to love the metallic sounds of a garage so much that you would like to come back again to this game.
You’re in a room with a car, I mean how much fun could you extract out of this situation – Car Mechanic Simulator 2023 is more of a “once in a week or a month” kind of a game and not something you would want to play daily.
4. It’s not exactly a playground for a developer’s imagination
Usually, a game’s sequel brings sharper or more striking visuals, a different storyline, new intriguing characters or a completely different world to the table but Car Mechanic Simulator 2023 won’t be able to do any of it. The graphics have already peaked in Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, so there’s no point in bringing an RTX-worthy graphical opulence. You can’t take the car in the heavens with unicorns running around and angels serving you beverages – it would be stupid to repair your car in Happy Gilmore’s happy place, you would much rather want to hang with Julie Bowen.
There is not much scope to build new worlds or bring in talking characters in the game as it would beat the whole solitary vibe of the game. It’s pretty much a dead-end when it comes to innovating a game that involves a garage where car repair is the player’s main objective.
5. No one wants to get caught building a virtual car in a game, by their girlfriend
You would much rather choose getting caught by your girlfriend red-handed, cheating with her mother on Valentine’s Day over getting caught unscrewing virtual cars with a creepy smile on your face – the latter is way more weird, you will be called a cheater in the first option but it won’t hurt as much as being called a man-child loser. Girls can tolerate their men watching sports or playing shooting/ gory video games – they consider it a manly preference. However, it’s unattractive to women when they see their man playing the ultimate dorky game which includes a creepy garage.
You would get called a creep and your number will get blocked by your girlfriend. She would break up with you and reduce your social status to a weirdo by gossiping about you in your social circle. It’s a funny exaggeration but girls find solitude creepy and weird especially if it’s in a game. Most gamers with families or partners wouldn’t want to get caught playing this eccentric game.
