50 Cent Blood on The Sand Honest Review

50 Cent Blood on The Sand is a third-person shooter game that was released in 2009. You get to play a fictitious version of the famous rapper “Curtis James Jackson III” who goes by his stage name ’50 Cent’, who gets enraged after not getting paid for a musical gig and ends up on an adventure. The game was released for PlayStation and Xbox only. We have provided some positives and negatives of the game down below to provide you with an honest review.

The Positives in 50 Cent Blood on the Sand

1. 50 Cent channelizing his inner Arnold Schwarzenegger

The ginormous shiny muscles that are put on display in every single frame, the cool one-liners, the stiff body language like the Terminator and a tough look on the face that oozes swagger – 50 Cent is playing a version of Arnold Schwarzenegger that we see in one of Arnold’s billion action movies, only this time Arnold has a different ethnicity and a ton of musical talent. The game has a very old Hollywood-themed action combat sequence. Blowing helicopters, breaking every rule possible, operating cool weapons and feeling invincible – you’re going to feel like the main character vibes after completing this game, similar to how you feel while walking out of the theater after watching a high-octane action movie.

2. Overwhelmingly brilliant graphics

The game looks like a beautiful intersection between old-school graphics and next-gen visuals. It is like the genetically mutated dinosaur aka “IndoRaptor” from Jurassic Park Fallen Kingdom – there is old-school dinosaur charm but a more aesthetic exterior i.e. you get the charm of old-school textures and also the modern graphical elements in the game. The blur effect on fast movements, the trail of smoke that a bullet leaves behind, the beautiful water reflections, the realistic splash of blood and clouds of dust and the rusty textures of the environment are a treat for the eyes of the gamer.

3. An incredibly satisfying plot that is no less than a movie

A musical superstar fighting endless gangsters, and mercenaries and causing mass destruction and gore-filled chaos in interesting locations – you’re going to get exactly these things in the gameplay. The cutscenes are full of intense back and forth, threats, cool one-liners, a lot of sexual tension that titillates your naughty imagination, 50 Cent’s original voice and a cold-hearted but well-justified climax – it’s hilarious, serious, sexy and everything else that you expect from an action blockbuster movie. The bad guys in the game have a James Bond villain type of arrogance – it is cinematically satisfying to watch.

4. It’s like an aphrodisiac for hardcore 50 Cent fans

Seeing your musical god knock out the bad guys with a single punch is an amazing feeling that you’re going to get in this game – it’s like clicking on the most replayed part of your favorite rap song again and again till you’re emotionally satisfied. 50 Cent’s real-life coolness gets multiplied by 10x in this game and on top of that, you get to take down helicopters with a bazooka – it can’t get cooler than this. Even 50 Cent is going to get a complex seeing his fictional game character – if you’re a fan of 50 Cent who believes that the sun sets only after getting permission from 50 Cent, then you’re going to absolutely love this game.

The Negatives in 50 Cent Blood on the Sand

1. Repetitive gameplay at times

Fighting Mexican gangsters in gritty locations, shooting red cylindrical containers to create a blast and collecting points – it’s the same old stuff that we have seen a million times in other games, there’s no refreshing aspects in the game that will blow your mind or challenge your gamer instincts. The same type of missions keep repeating themselves again and again after some different cutscenes – it feels like an endless loop of mediocrity in terms of original or innovative game design. If you’ve played even a single Call of Duty title, then you might get bored of this game pretty quickly.

A game of chess might stimulate your imagination better than this game made on the typical tried-and-tested third-person shooter game approach.

2. It has a forgettable quality to it

Unlike how the first race in NFS Most Wanted 2005 makes your heart race with excitement – this game feels like just another game after completing the first mission itself, there’s no exhilarating quality about this game. There is no building up of tension, no scary surprise attacks by the enemies unlike the Call of Duty games, no unsettling feeling in the gut while blowing helicopters or even a feeling of achievement after eliminating enemies – playing this game is like eating bland food that doesn’t cause the slightest of flavor induced sensation on your tongue. If you’re an FPS fanatic, then you are not gonna remember this game for even 2 days.

Overall, 50 Cent Blood on the Sand is a decent game to play if you are a fan of 50 Cent or new to the whole first-person shooting game genre. Otherwise, you might as well skip this overrated game.
