Street Fighter 7: 5 Changes fans would love to see over previous Street Fighter games

Street Fighter 6 has been termed the best game of the Street Fighter franchise for its vibrant color scheme and exciting action combat. Although the game was near perfect due to its story mode which allows you to roam free and interact with a variety of eccentric characters. Still, a few things were missing from Street Fighter 6. Here are the 5 changes that fans would love to see Capcom incorporate in one of their most anticipated title i.e. Street Fighter 7.

Changes fans would love to see in Street Fighter 7 compared to previous franchise games

1. An Underdog story

The extremely buff, handsome & gigachad male characters who look like they have been raised on healthy portions of vegetables and steroids – it’s tough to relate to characters who look like the son of Hercules, a majority of men don’t look like these protein-powder sniffing monstrosities. Street Fighter 6’s story mode felt like a bunch of cool kids hanging out together – it looks fake like the buffet of hot school kids from a Netflix web series.

The archetype of Tobey Maguire’s portrayal of Peter Parker is ideal for story mode in Street Fighter 7. The story mode character faces bullies, gets trained by a retired kung fu master like Jackie Chan’s character from the 2010 Karate Kid and wins the old Karate Kid movie tournament – it’s a treat to watch the once downtrodden become the hero of his own story. The relatability and feel-good factor would increase 10 times if the underdog arc is inculcated into the story mode.

2. Aerial combat

The terrestrial fights with the same background feel boring after a while in Street Fighter 6 – it would be cool to see an aerial fight with the option of returning to land or hovering in the air as long as you want. Much like Dragon Ball games, the aerial fight in Street Fighter 7 would allow the gamers to explore a larger portion of the landscape and in a way change the game background if it gets monotonous. The constantly changing aerial camera angles as per the gamer’s wish would be an instant hit – it would be exciting to watch camera angles change as hover towards the opponent or fall to the ground after getting hit.

The act of chasing your enemy, getting hit and floating back to your consciousness again – will add an element of realism to Street Fighter 7. It’s going to look insane seeing your opponent fall to the ground after getting KO’ed – the Dragon Ball fashion aerial combat could be a game-changer for the Street Fighter franchise.

3. Voice packs dubbed by the biggest action stars

Street Fighter 7 should come with voice packs where you can get your characters to speak like Jackie Chan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Michelle Yeoh, Donnie Yen or Bruce Lee – it would be insanely cool to see a calm & collected IP Man fighting in Wing Chun kung fu style against loud-mouthed American opponents. Imagine your character imitating Jackie Chan’s snake in the eagle’s shadow style of kung fu after getting trained by his drunken master, in Street Fighter 7 – it would be a treat for all the kung fu movie buffs worldwide.

Try to imagine a mentor in Street Fighter 7 who looks like a retired Rocky Balboa, giving you his bits of wisdom and empowering the fighter inside you – gamers would flip out if some motivation is poured into their minds before an intense fight. Iconic one-liners by Arnold Schwarzenegger, blazing fast hand movements by Bruce Lee and the stunning Michelle Yeoh fighting like her “Everything Everywhere All At Once” character – it would be like bringing the wildest of a gamer’s fantasies to life.

4. A gritty visual undertone

It gets pretty tiring for the eyes of a gamer to constantly see the overtly vibrant visuals or a little too much color after a while in Street Fighter 6 – it also reduces the demographic of the game to only teenagers or kids, as young adults or adults prefer visuals that are not too cartoonish and a little mature looking. The visual undertone in Street Fighter 7 should be dark & melancholic like the world of Bruce Wayne – it will attract a mature audience for the gritty appeal & realistic textures of the game and also attract the DC fanatics who just want to try everything that Batman’s involved in.

The punchy color scheme of Street Fighter 6 is getting old & boring since the latest trend is gritty in all the AAA games you see today – from Alan Wake 2 to Senua’s Saga HellBlade 2, you will see a jaw-droppingly stunning world with a raw & real vibe to it. Imagine, a street fight taking place in the dark alleys of Gotham City – the gritty realism would create a cinematic experience in Street Fighter 7.

5. Rustic landscapes

The Shaolin temples, the modern city appeal, and the loud and over-the-top characters blend right into the screen with the background in Street Fighter 6 – there’s no breathtaking contrast that catches your attention. Street Fighter 7 needs rustic landscapes like wastelands, countryside locations and farms etc – it would be refreshing to see a street style taking place in the world of “The Ghost of Tsushima”, gamers will get the beautiful contrast they missed in previous Street Fighter games.

Other than rustic landscapes, there should be spiritual and zen monk-like characters who don’t scream on the top of their lungs during a fight – all the 30-year-old gamers would enjoy the game significantly more if fights become more therapeutic & calming in Street Fighter 7.
