Resident Evil 7: Biohazard’s story revolves around Ethan Winters, i.e., the protagonist, who, after getting a video message from his presumed lost wife, travels to Baker Farm, located in Dulvey, Louisana. Ethan finds Mia, locked in an underground cell beneath the Baker Mansion. Ethan finds out that Mia is possessed by an entity that turns her into a psychopathic killer. After dealing with Mia, he tries to flee the Baker property. In his attempt to escape the Baker mansion, he fights for his life with multiple blood-curdling monsters. 8. Molden Monster
The Molden monsters are a variety of monstrosities filled with a black, slimy, sticky, and gooey substance that oozes out of their creepy bodies. When you shoot at them, milkish-red-colored pus comes out of their body, adding to the skin-crawling factor of their hideously repulsive bodies. Their bodies are mostly skeletal, with a thin layer of glistening goo covering them. These creatures are filthy enough to induce a puking sensation in your gut. If you have a weak stomach, eliminate these sticky creatures as soon as possible or run past them. The molden monsters were created by a supernatural mold infestation that is rapidly growing its roots inside the Baker mansion.
The molden monsters make a distorted growling noise, similar to the sound effects of zombies, and equally annoying. The skins of these monsters have a lively and pulsating appearance. Overall, the molden monsters are visually repulsive but not much creepy as one expects them to behave that way.
7. Lucas Baker
Lucas Baker is the son of Jack Baker and Marguerite Baker. Even without his monstrous regenerative abilities, Lucas is creepy. He is like that one socially awkward guy in your friend group who doesn’t get the invite if girls are coming to the party. His lifeless pale appearance bears a strong resemblance to Christian Bale’s zombie-like appearance in the movie “The Machinist.” Lucas looks like one of those junkies who live near the trash bin, scratch their skins, and stare back at people with their predatory eyes. His glassy eyes, lifeless skin, and unpredictably fidgety demeanor make his presence a truly scary and ominous one. You wouldn’t want this guy to meet your family members.
Lukas is despised and publicly humiliated by his father and rightfully so, as he doesn’t have the social etiquette his family expects of him. Overall, Lucas is extremely twitchy and awkward.
6. Jack Baker Final Mutated Form
After getting beaten by Ethan Winters in previous 2-3 aggressive encounters, Jack Baker resurges in his final monstrous form, i.e., the multiple-eyed mutation. Jack Baker’s final mutated form has multiple gollum-like eyes that are beautifully illuminated with orange color – it almost looks gorgeous to some extent. This monster has a fibrous root-like structure, i.e., similar to a plant’s roots, but these are made of a black gooey and self-sustaining evil substance, which is similar to the alien anatomy of Marvel’s Venom. It is undoubtedly the most hideous monster out of all those present in Resident Evil 7.
Jack Baker’s final mutated form is all show & no go, as it crawls slowly and only moves its hands as a combat movement – it won’t scare you much, but its creepy crawly anatomy and distorted voice will give you the jitters. However, this is Jack Baker’s least creepy version.
5. Mia Winters
Mia Winters transforms from a demure, feminine womanly figure to a rabid psychopath pretty quickly. She comes to her human conscience & goes back under the evil spell involuntarily – it makes her unpredictable & extremely dangerous. The life in her eyes comes and goes, like a switch that turns her conscience on and off. You’re walking in the jungle at night & suddenly a feral predator pounces on you, ripping you apart with its sharp claws – facing Mia Winters feels exactly like that, as you don’t know when she’s going to turn into a sadistic, murderous monster. Seeing her skin turn pale and crawl like the ghost from the movie “Rings” is extremely creepy.
Overall, Mia Winters is the most ravenous out of all the monsters in Resident Evil 7, if not the creepiest.
4. Old Eveline
Old Eveline is the grandmother of Lucas Baker, mother of Jack Baker. Most of the time, she just sits in her chair without moving much. She looks like a crocodile that is lying dormant and basking in sunlight – you are confused about whether she’s alive or not. Old Eveline moves her head a little now and then. In her human form, you would feel pity and sympathy for her sloth-like reflexes. However, she becomes a huge-headed monster with nothing but fibrous root-like tentacles attached to her body. Old Eveline’s monster form is ferocious, loud, unhinged, and a liberating contrast to her immobile and tired human self.
The monster form is a beautiful metaphor for Old Eveline’s inner turmoil and pent-up frustration towards her miserable health. In her monster form, she is finally alive, athletic, and able to love herself. Her monstrous screams carry a lot of pain, and it seems like she is venting out years’ worth of self-loathing. The evil and hyperactive sprout-like growth in Old Eveline’s monster form makes her look extremely creepy.
3. Jack Baker
Jack Baker is the head of the Baker family, and an arrogant patriarch whose motto in life is “My way or the highway.” He is a hotheaded dictator in terms of how he deals with his family issues, and he doesn’t like hearing ‘No’. Jack is one of those people who will punch a houseguest in the face for politely denying his mother’s special recipe. He is very conservative, aggressively polite, and extremely sarcastic. During fights, Jack transforms into a visceral beast, like a Velociraptor who is going to rip your guts out and make you watch him eat you alive.
Due to his regenerative abilities, Jack doesn’t die even after getting beaten by Ethan Winters multiple times. Jack’s skin becomes a throbbing, boiling, and alive lump of meat that regenerates back into a human body part after being shot at repeatedly – it’s the most gross, gut-sickening visual that you will see. Without any doubt, Jack Baker is the creepiest man in Resident Evil 7.
2. Marguerite Baker
Marguerite Baker is Jack Baker’s wife, but she has no authority in the house compared to her husband – it has made her irritable, impulsive, and emotionally unstable. She doesn’t have the feminine warmth you expect from a lady, even in her human form. She will summon her army of bugs, by using a lantern directed towards you. In her monster form, she crawls on walls like a spider and pounces at you like a jumping spider on its prey. Her pale face, demonic smile (similar to that of the ghost in Conjuring 1), overgrown spider-like human limbs, obsessive eyes, and evil cackling laughter make her the 2nd most creepy monster in Resident Evil 7.
Your heart will leap out of your chest when Marguerite’s monster form walks towards you – the perpetual wickedness and evil quality of her face is insanely scary. The crawling movements & anticipation will petrify the living daylights out of you.
1. Young Eveline
Young Eveline has a sinister & eerie quality similar to that of the Red Queen (from the movie Resident Evil 1). The child-like mischievous charm that one expects from a kid of Young Eveline’s age seems to be lost in her case. Her demeanor is unfazed, and calm, and she looks through you. Young Eveline has the soul of a vile psychopath trapped inside a child’s body. She is a lonely kid who was never loved, it made her into the evil entity she is. Young Eveline’s chilling presence makes her the creepiest monster of Resident Evil 7.
