No, I’m Not a Human is a horror game that challenges your human instinct, awareness and threat perception in times of terror. Times are weird and weirder demonic creatures are roaming around in human disguise, and you have to decide whether they are welcome in your shelter or not. These lurking entities are called visitors. You have to look at signs while talking to the guests & try to identify the visitors out of the genuine humans. Here’s our review of the No, I’m Not a Human demo.
No, I’m not a Human Demo Review
1. Weird looking guests arrive at your doorstep
Droopy eyes, lanky long legs, elongated necks, oddly shaped jaw, creepy smile that makes Pennywise’s smile look beautiful – you name it, and No, I’m not a Human has inculcated that ugly feature in their characters. All the guests who knock on your door have an unsettling quality to their faces, and there’s a peculiar charm and confidence in them. You don’t know whether to laugh at them or admire their confidence. These guests look like the pale and creepy disguised aliens in the Men of Black franchise movies. The calmness on their faces looks unnerving and creates a prolonged suspicion even after you welcome them into your shelter. You have to be extremely vigilant in this game.
2. Your worst fear is gazing at you
A major part of No, I’m Not A Human is that it triggers human curiosity, and it does that beautifully. You have to check on your guests regularly after listening to major updates in the news. Your curiosity might bring you to the windows & where you will witness an evil “slender man” type of entity gazing at you with its lifeless eyes, and maintaining eye contact with this evil feels like walking on a rope strung between skyscrapers, i.e., you can die anytime but you hold your composure and do what’s required. This murderous creature is not heavily explored in the demo but the mere glance of him will send chills down your spine.
3. There’s something strange happening outside
Apart from the visitors, other strange things are happening. You might hear some weird revealing features about the visitors, and the guests on your doorstep are all weird people with their unique sob stories, arrogant or comical facial expressions, and they tell you about astronomical predictions & their views on the whole “alien-entity” situation happening in the streets. You are going to witness some horrifying stuff straight out of your window.
4. The terror amplifies through the news
After checking up on the guests, talking to the people outside your door, and peeking through the windows, you get some me-time while resting in your bedroom. You will get informed through news about the terrors outside & how to identify the man-eating visitors who look like normal humans. Your anxiety will be doubled each time you hear the news because you have to double-check on the guests who are currently resting in your shelter. You have to deal with their obnoxious personalities and weirdly depressing demeanors – No, I’m Not A Human is unintentionally filled with a lot of wisdom & deep insight into human behavior. The depraved side of the human psyche is beautifully portrayed in the game.
5. An eerie atmosphere builds up somehow
No, I’m Not A Human hits it out of the park with its atmospheric world-building, haunting ambiance and the confused state of security that your character feels during the gameplay. You are going to hear blood-curdling noises in the shelter. There’s going to be a slow-burning background score playing in the ground that’s going to sound like a creepy musical toy implying some oncoming sinister events – you’re going to feel as if your character might get jumped anytime soon. Overall, you’re going to feel stressed while talking to the creepy guests.
