Dino Crisis Rebirth Review: It’s A Chewy But Delicious Delicacy

Dino Crisis Rebirth Review: It's A Chewy But Delicious Delicacy

Dino Crisis Rebirth is an unofficial fan-made game inspired by the games of the Dino Crisis franchise. The game consists of better and sharper visuals with the same characters. This unofficial Dino Crisis remake has everything that a dinosaur nerd wants i.e., a suspenseful plot, a tense mission, and an unintentional game of hide & seek with death itself. Is Dino Crisis Rebirth a genuine fan service or a mere attention-grabbing tool? You can read our thoughts mentioned down below to understand better. Here’s our review of Dino Crisis Rebirth.

Dino Crisis Rebirth Review

1. Gore lovers will have a great time playing this

The splashes of blood on the walls and floors & the red color aesthetic of the emergency lights in the facility give an intense visceral appeal to the game. Dino Crisis Rebirth takes the less-taken & more unhinged road in terms of displaying gore through its visuals. Unlike most fan games, this game doesn’t have clownish dinosaurs that look harmless, as it delivers the complete opposite, i.e. dinosaurs that walk around like mercenaries in a James Bond movie and have a genuinely scary presence much similar to the horrifying velociraptors shown in the Jurassic Park movies. You can feel your spine getting colder as the Velociraptor’s gurgles start getting louder.

The game awakens your tribal survival instincts as it contains multiple “heart in your mouth” moments that one sees in crime thrillers.

2. A spy thriller vibe that builds intrigue

A protagonist maneuvering through the crevices of the facility to sneak past bloodthirsty dinosaurs, a heart palpitation-inducing background score that sinks your heart instantly, fluctuating lights in a dim-lit environment that build visual tension seamlessly and cliffhanger moments that decide whether your character lives or not; you’re going to feel as if you’re a female version of James Bond sneaking inside a research facility to gather some intel; it’s that intense. The background score is breathtakingly tense, and it grabs you by your neck in intense moments. It’s that good.

Unlike James Bond movies, you don’t have inventive hi-tech gadgets here. Instead, you will have to use your brains and brawn to outsmart or eliminate the dinosaurs that endanger your top-secret mission. The challenges in Dino Crisis Rebirth are more psychological and less technical; you’re going to have to calm yourself down to prevail against the dinosaurs.

3. Beautifully haunting visuals that engage you

A dinosaur roaring in the jungle in typical Jurassic Park closing T-rex shot style with the beautiful backdrop of a full moon illuminating the scenery, beautiful glistening reflections of water on metallic surfaces that look extremely enticing and cinematic and the dim-light environments that amp up the eerie vibe of the game will collectively make you drool over how charming, gorgeous, and visually magnetic this game looks. The blood splattered all over certain areas creates a gloomy and grim ambiance, which dexterously shifts the psychological tone of the game to a more life-threatening and anxiety-inducing one. The game is incredibly polished and smoothened to the extent that it looks similar to modern AAA games in some scenarios.

4. The screenplay blips & peaks from time to time

At certain encounters with dinosaurs, you won’t feel any sort of zing in the scene or even fear in that near-death scenario and in some scenarios, you will feel as if your heart is beating faster than a snare drum. The intensity of the game fluctuates from 0 to 100 throughout the game. Sometimes the game tastes like a stale pickle and sometimes it tastes like a tiramisu cake; you can’t really love or hate the game truly as it sinks and flies in its screenplay without any consistency whatsoever.

Dino Crisis Rebirth isn’t the best game you’ve ever played and it’s certainly not bad; it lies somewhere in the territory of “it’s so unique that it’s good” type of games.

5. The obvious reason for men’s interest is the protagonist

Beautiful pixie-cut red hair, sharp facial features, a seductively attractive outfit, and certain appealing feminine features; it has everything that a man wants from his woman or girlfriend. Men are simple creatures; they see beauty and they like it. Dino Crisis Rebirth capitalizes on the glamour quotient and makes such a visually charming and compelling character that most gamers would play just for the eye candy aspect of it. The ultra-sexy and strong female protagonist will remind you of Lara Croft in terms of the screen-burning hotness you are going to witness. Overall, the game is entertaining.
