Batman Arkham Shadow Teaser – The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Side of it

Batman Arkham Shadow Teaser - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Side of it

The billionaire playboy has put on his identity-concealing horned cowl, worn the black cape of justice and donned his impenetrable armor suit again, as he is making a return to your nearest PC screens with DC’s newest Batman game aka Batman Arkham Shadow. The teaser trailer for Batman Arkham Shadow is available on YouTube and is sparking a ton of mixed reactions from the fans – ranging from cheerful hysteria to plain rejection. Considering the broad spectrum of emotional reactions to the teaser, we have listed the good, the bad and the ugly side of Batman Arkham Shadow.

The Good about Batman Arkham Shadow teaser

The skin-crawling sensation that sends a jitter through your body, the beautifully eerie & haunting alleys of Gotham glistening in the rain, the creepy red eyes of rats that make them look like a rat form incarnation of the devil, the epic background music that excites you more than your first date, and the astoundingly realistic gloomy aesthetic of Gotham – all these elements combined make the teaser a heart-poundingly creepy experience with breathtaking graphics.

The shrieking rat in the beginning which has more acting chops than some actors, the gloomy cloud of fog that reveals the arrival of Batman, the squeaky noises coming from the army of rats and the iconic Batman thump on landing create an incredible cinematic experience for the viewer. The horde of rats marching toward Batman, makes you think ” Is Willard’s character played by Crispin Glover going to be the bad guy in this game ” – hahaha.

Judging by the reflection of Batman’s costume through the fog and the size of the cowl horns, you can tell that it’s going to be the Michael Keaton Batman costume – so, that’s another great thing( all the DC nerds must be jumping in the air after reading this).

The Bad side that is deeply disappointing

Batman Arkham Shadow is a VR exclusive game that will only be available on Meta Quest 3, that only costs 500 dollars( silently sobs in the corner due to the stitches in the stomach area) – it’s a kidney-touching expense that seems unfair. On top of building an expensive gaming PC, now you have to also purchase a pair of over-expensive futuristic goggles that will most likely be forgotten like your gym membership, after you’re done playing Batman Arkham Shadow VR. It’s even sadder than heartbreak, divorce or betrayal by a friend.

At least in relationships, you have fond memories that last for eternity even after the relationship has faded away but in the case of this game, there will only be tears of regret after playing it – that you can wipe with the instruction manual pages and bill receipts of Meta Quest 3. No game is worth spending 500 dollars on unless it reverses the symptoms of cancer or helps in remission. You can almost imagine yourself tearing the Batman posters in your room and going on a Marvel movie marathon when the teaser shows ” Only on Meta Quest 3″.

The Ugly that stinks

The ugliest part about the Batman Arkham Shadow teaser is the blatant disregard for the love & loyalty that DC fans have shown over the years – the developers instantly made all of us feel like the dorky teenager with braces who couldn’t even talk to his crush without fumbling or getting a dry throat. The unachievable price point set by Rocksteady Studios is giving strong competition to modern-day dating standards. It feels like the breakup phase of a girl-boy relationship where either one has stopped considering the emotional needs of the other person – the game developers are making the gamers feel ignored just like a heartless ex who selfishly cared about his feelings only.

It beats the purpose of games i.e. providing a creatively stimulating experience to gamers worldwide, at an affordable price that doesn’t trigger a heart attack in the gamer’s body. Batman Arkham Shadow is playing with the emotions of millions of fans who love their kidneys more than any game – no one wants to sell their mother’s jewelry to purchase the tools for a VR game. Overall, it feels like a major cash crab opportunity created by the gaming studio. The teaser looks promising but the price is causing major emotional trauma to DC fans.
