Personality Analysis of Marguerite Baker from Resident Evil 7

Personality Analysis of Marguerite Baker from Resident Evil 7

Marguerite Baker is the wife of the family head, Jack Baker, and also the mother of Lucas Baker. She doesn’t get the feminine treatment she deserves from her husband. Marguerite is heavily disappointed in Lucas, as he didn’t turn out to be as socially groomed as she & Jack. She finds her solace in the kitchen while preparing meals for the Bakers. Just like every other member of the Baker family, Marguerite turned into a monster as well but she still has some softness left in her demeanor. We have analyzed the personality of Marguerite Baker & summed it into 5 points.

Personality Analysis of Marguerite Baker

1. There’s a deeply maternal & nurturing side to her

Personality Analysis of Marguerite Baker from Resident Evil 7

While serving dinner at the dinner table to the latest victim of the Baker family, Marguerite acts like a quintessential feminine, motherly figure who can’t wait to feed everyone at the table and receive feedback for her cooking skills. Her tongue is not as sophisticated as a normal human, but she still exhibits the nurturing instinct of our mothers. She says, “He’s not eating it, Jack.” or “I made that for him,” as she wants the victim to try out her homecooked cannibalistic delicacies & praise her. Just like all our mothers, Marguerite is the most gracefully organic person during conversations with guests (victims in this case).

Marguerite taunts Lucas politely when he misbehaves with the victims like a caring parent does without hurting their child’s confidence. If we ignore the horrifying evil that lies latent inside her, Marguerite is a beautiful, sensitive, caring, and softhearted woman.

2. She craves authority in the household

Marguerite doesn’t hold the same authority as Jack in the Baker mansion, and it has crippled her self-confidence. When the evil monstrous entity takes over her, Marguerite begins to emulate the aggressively patriarchal personality of her husband. Marguerite’s voice becomes a frightening mixture of raspy & possessed. She starts talking with profanity, and a devilish flair begins to reflect in her body movements. A hilarious take on Marguerite’s evil form is that she transforms from an unaware, frightened old lady to a modern, feminist woman aware of her rights. Marguerite’s evil side doesn’t ask questions like her scared dinner-table version. Instead, she starts scaring/confronting the victims with a sinister look in her eyes.

Marguerite transforms from a sweet grandma who shivers after hearing a loud argument to a fearless assassin with swag who can make the strongest of male figures pee their pants.

3. She is tired of being treated like an animal

Marguerite often gets shouted at the dinner table by her husband, Jack Baker, who is a male tyrant who doesn’t like hearing otherwise and dismisses those who don’t obey him. She isn’t treated like a revered maternal figure of the family by Jack, and her resentment often comes out in the form of mini, frustration-filled rants directed towards him. Usually, Marguerite storms out of the arguments whilst breathing resentment and a burning hatred towards Jack. Marguerite’s only hope of getting respectful treatment is her son, Lucas, who listens to her like an obedient 4-year-old, who worships his mother. If it wasn’t for Lucas, then Marguerite would have gone either mad or suicidal.

The main point is that Marguerite Baker is tired of getting treated like a filthy farm animal, who is no longer loved or required by its owner.

4. Marguerite’s monstrous side is a portal to her liberty

When she is being demeaned by her husband, Marguerite feels caged in her own house and her self-respect plummets to negative amounts. After completely transforming into her monster form, Marguerite growls like a possessed ghost and crawls on the walls like a large Australian spider – there’s a free-spirited vibe to her monstrous form. It feels as if she’s finally become a person of her own and is liberated from the shackles of her submissive marriage to Jack Baker. You are going to feel like screaming “You go girl!! ” when she’s scaring the living daylights out of you. Marguerite’s monstrous form is the most eerie & heartpoundingly scary monster in Resident Evil 7.

5. She is adorably evil at times

Even when Marguerite is emitting evil, she isn’t a ravenous hunter like Jack Baker or an evil genius like Lucas Baker. She walks like an old grandma, holds the lantern, and unleashes her army of insects at you – it’s the most laughable, amateur, and cute attack that Marguerite scares you with. She gets scared easily, like a mother whose infant is coughing or sneezing uncontrollably. She screams in agony like an old gal with back pain, and you actually feel pity for her. She’s the most non-arrogant evil entity in the Baker mansion. Overall, Marguerite’s sweet feminine side often comes out in her evil form, and it makes her the most adorable evil person in Resident Evil 7.
